Shopping with Flora

Mommy and Flora walk into the grocery store. Mommy says, "Look, Flora!! They have little carts!! You can push one for Mommy!!" Mommy thinks this will be SOOOO much fun. Flora smiles and nods somewhat nonchalantly, but with a mischievous glint in her eye.....

Flora, in her little red sundress, follows Mommy with the cart to the back of the store. Everyone says, "Ohhhhh, how cuuuuuute." Mommy is thinking she probably has the best little girl in the world.

Flora and Mommy stop at the deli to get some lunch meat. Mommy turns to tell the nice deli lady what kind of meat she wants and turns back around to see Flora RUNNING full speed down the long aisle, pushing the cart. UH-OH! Runaway cart! Runaway cart with a girl in a little red sundress attached! Visions of various disasters begin zipping through Mommy's head.

Mommy leaves the deli lady standing at the counter with her meat and chases after the crazyfast girl in the little red sundress. Mommy has never run through a grocery store before..... People are still saying "Ohhhhhh" but with a slightly different tone!

Flora is fast, but Mommy is faster and ultimately victorious. However, this small taste of freedom excites Flora. She is no longer interested in serenely pushing the cart behind Mommy in her little red sundress. Mommy and Flora only have four more things to get at the grocery store, which is a good thing because Mommy is now pushing a tiny cart through the store (yes, VERY hunched over) and stopping every few feet to chase a runaway Flora down aisle after aisle. Flora has never had so much fun grocery shopping! Mommy has never pushed a tiny cart through a store with her knees....

Mommy still thinks she has the best little girl in the world.....but next time that little girl will be securely fastened in a BIG cart.
