Apparently one of the coolest things you can do if you are a one year-old is balance your sippy cup upside-down! Flora achieved this feat and threw both hands up in the air, yelled "Yea," waited for me to express my amazement at her new talent, and then clapped for herself. We would probably all be happier people if we celebrated our small accomplishments with the same enthusiasm as a toddler!
Earlier, when I put her in her chair and asked her if she wanted to eat some turkey, she said, "No! Cheeeeeese!" She is turning into quite the little communicator these days. It's fun, but I guess it means she will be sharing more of her opinions on what she should and should not eat, watch, play, wear, etc. Oh great! It really is fun to watch her language progressing though. In the past few days she has really started communicating, as opposed to just saying words when we prompt her. Soon there may be someone around here to talk to all day that will actually talk back to me! It's all very exciting!
And Scout? Well, his favorite thing in the world is to cuddle and coo with his Mommy. He also really likes smiling and giggling at Daddy and Flora, but Mom is still best for now! He can sit up for short periods by himself and loves to practice jumping in my lap. Who needs a Jumperoo when you have a Mommy, right? He's ready to go. The stationary life is not for Scout....unless there's cuddling involved. It is going to be SO CUTE when he can crawl behind Flora everywhere she goes! I think they will be great friends.
